Youth.ify: a plataforma internacional para jovens ativistas

A Youth.ify é uma nova rede internacional que surgiu em Agosto de 2020, por iniciativa de sua fundadora, Apurva Iyengar, para empoderar e aproximar o ativismo ambiental dos jovens, além de aproximar os próprios ativistas. A organização tem como missão três simples palavras que fazem muita diferença: Conectar, Colaborar e Apoiar.

O segredo dessa plataforma é que você não precisa ter conhecimento prévio de algo, você pode simplesmente ter a vontade de fazer a diferença, uma frase no site do projeto justamente diz: "Nós desenhamos o Youth.ify para ser o lugar em que você começa quando não sabe como começar".
Muitos jovens sentem-se acuados ou desmotivados a fazerem algo porque acreditam que para fazer algum tipo de diferença, é necessário ser famoso, o que não é verdade. E é justamente isso que o Youth.ify quer provar pra você.
Além dessa finalidade, de provar ao jovem que cada um tem o poder de fazer a diferença (algo que o fotojornalista Dan Eldon já dizia), a organização foi fundada também graças ao cansaço da juventude em assistir pessoas no poder apenas tentando incentivar ou jogar a função de "eles são o futuro do mundo" nas costas de crianças e jovens, ao invés de realmente nos empoderar. Já existem diversas crianças, adolescentes e jovens que possuem projetos incríveis, mas que não são levados a sério ou não possuem espaço de fala. Isso foi uma coisa que a Hamangaí, na conversa que tivemos, também citou, sobre como nós temos a responsabilidade de ser o futuro, mas ninguém percebe que já estamos trabalhando muito no presente. Lembrando que a Hamangaí faz parte da organização chamada Engajamundo, que é um tanto similar com a Youth.ify e voltada para a juventude brasileira.
As iniciativas da Youth.ify, estão separadas nos três grandes tópicos base da organização:
- Conexão - fazer parte da comunidade do Youth.ify e conhecer jovens de todos os cantos do mundo, e ainda poder se engajar junto a eles em novos projetos, e fazer parte dos encontros bi-semanais, os "networking sessions", onde serão discutidos todos os temas e tópicos desejados;
- Colaboração - participe de projetos já existentes de outros jovens da comunidade da Youth.ify ou inicie novos e chame pessoas para fazerem parte;
- Apoio - aprenda como sair apenas da paixão e da vontade, para o fazer uma ação realmente, por meio dos encontros e workshops oferecidos pela Youth.ify.
Dentro do tópico "colaboração", estão os diversos projetos criados e liderados por jovens membros do Youth.ify, entre eles a "Invisible Earth Mag", ou em português, Revista da Terra Invisível, que busca promover um espaço para que qualquer um se expresse por meio de representações visuais, alertando sobre a crise climática e como isso afeta todas as facetas da vida. E no "apoio", existem simples atividades que fazem toda a diferença no ativismo e na luta ambiental, como os "Seminários voltados para Ação", que logo serão lançados, e serão voltados exclusivamente em como ensinar jovens a erguerem suas vozes para sua comunidade e utilizar de ferramentas que estão nas mãos da nova geração para tirar esse ativismo do papel. Também há o "#Questions Channel", o canal para tirar dúvidas e para compartilhar experiências. E ainda, aos sábados, no "Saturday Spotlights", há o reconhecimento e divulgação de algum membro da equipe.
O Youth.ify é uma plataforma criada por jovens, gerenciada por jovens e composta totalmente por jovens entre 15 e 25 anos. Há uma programação cativante e compartilha de muito conhecimento advindo de seus iguais, formando uma comunidade ativista forte por meio da parceria e das experiências compartilhadas. Youth.ify is a new international network that was found in August 2020, by the initiative of its young founder, Apurva Iyengar, to empower and to take activism closer to young people, and to connect environmental activists, that are already active, around the world. The organization has as mission 3 simple words that make all the difference, they are: Connect, Collaborate and Support.
This platform secret is the fact that you don't need to have any previous knowledge, you can only have the want to make the difference. There is a quote on the site that explains what I tried to say before: "We designed Youth.ify to be the place to start when you don't know where to start."
Many youngers feel afraid ou desmotivated to make something because they think to make some kind of difference, you need to be famous, it isn't true. And Youth.ify wants to prove exactly this.
In addition to this purpose, to prove to the youth that each one has the power to make a difference (something the photojournalist Dan Eldon already said), the organization was founded also thanks to the tiredness of the youth in assisting people in power just trying to encourage or play the role of "you are the future of the world" on the backs of children and young people, instead of really empowering this youth. There are already several children, teenagers and young people who have incredible projects, but who are not taken seriously or don't have a space for speech. This was something that Hamangaí, in the conversation we had that is on another post, also mentioned, about how we have a responsability to be the future, but nobody realizes that we are already working hard in the present. Recalling that Hamangaí is part of the organization called Engajamundo, which is somewhat similar to Youth.ify and aimed at Brazilian youth.
Youth.ify's initiatives are separated into the organization's three main core topics:
- Connect - joining the Youth.ify you can meet many other youngs from around the world and you can engage with each other to design projects together, you will have bi-weekly online meetings too to discuss different themes and activies;
- Collaboration - participate in already existing projects of other young people in the Youth.ify community or start new ones and invite people to join;
- Support - learn how to get out of passion and go directly to the doing, to make a real action, through the meetings and workshops offered by Youth.ify.
And in "support", there are activities that make all the difference in activism and in the environmental struggle, such as "Action-oriented seminars", which will soon be launched, and will be focused exclusively on how to teach young people to raise their voices for their community and use tools that are in the hands of the new generation to get this activism off the ground. There is also the "#Questions Channel", the channel to answer questions and share experiences. And yet, the "Saturday Spotlights", there is the recognition of a member of the team.
Youth.ify is a platform created by young people, managed by young people and composed entirely by young people between 15 and 25 years old.
